Mack Padgett Obituary

Mack Ernest Padgett LUBBOCK- MSGT (USAF, Retired) Mack E. Padgett went to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct.30, 2015, at the age of 69. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Broadview Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Clark officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mack was born on Nov. 18, 1945, in Vero Beach, Fla., to the late Florence Ida (Teate) and Joseph James Padgett. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in Oct. of 1963, where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and served at many military assignments in the U.S and overseas, until his retirement from active duty in March 1986. Mack was a Vietnam War Veteran and was very proud of his military service. After his retirement from the military Mack was employed for many years by the Frenship Independent School District. Mack married Ronna Marie Roberts Padgett in 1965 and they had celebrated their Golden Anniversary this year. He was the proud father of Mack Jr., Angela, and Trudi. He was a strong Christian man, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was active in the Broadview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for years. After sustaining a life-changing injury during a hunting accident which left him wheelchair bound, his strong faith helped him through the difficult times. Mack enjoyed antique cars, traveling, boating, camping and fishing. Mack is preceded in death by his brothers, Claude, Jack and Joseph; and sisters, Frances and Marie. He is survived by his loving wife, Ronna, of Lubbock; son, Mack Jr., and wife, Sheila, of Wolfforth, Texas; daughter, Angela and husband, Ralph Cuevas, of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Trudi and husband, Jeff Pittman, of Lakeside City, Texas; grandchildren: Kobi Cuevas; Kelsey Cuevas; Ashlee Pittman; Holly Pittman; Jack Pittman; LaTasha Mendoza; Anthony Reagan; great-grandchildren: Jude Heineken and Nicolai Mendoza; sister, JoeAnn Bowman; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and many close friends he considered family. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences can be offered at: www.resthavenfuneralhome.com.
