Mattie Virginia "Jackie" Turner

Mattie Virginia Jackie Turner BORDEN COUNTY-Mattie Virginia Jackie Turner of Borden County passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the age of 104. She lived many years in Borden County before moving to Lynnwood Assisted Living Facility in 2006. Visitation will be held at Combest Family Funeral Homes, Tahoka 12 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Gail Cemetery in Gail, Texas. Jackie, the daughter of Dan and Emma King O'Connell, was born in Cedar Gap, Texas, on Feb. 17, 1911. She married J. M. Boots Turner on September 1, 1928 in Tuscola, Texas. She was a member of the Mesquite Church of Christ in Borden County. She is survived by her son Dan Turner and wife Ouida of Tahoka; granddaughter, Danna Curry and husband Zane of Tahoka; granddaughter-in-law, Janette Turner, of Lamesa; six great-grandchildren, Bric Turner and wife Tanya of San Angelo, Kimberly Lightfoot and husband Steve of Bryan, Rachel Lehman and husband Bruce of Tahoka, Rebekah Filley and husband Reed of Tahoka, Ryan Curry and wife Erica of Tahoka, and Roxie Miller and husband Clay of Lamesa; and 12 great-great-grandchildren (plus one more on the way).
