I was doing a google search for Bob and came across his obituary. He was a first cousin to my mother, Ina Crown Jensen. Ina's mother was Elvina Bloom, Helmer's sister. I am so very sorry for your loss. I was hoping to find as many Bloom relatives as possible in order to plan a reunion in the future. The last one to my knowledge was 1990, Helmer's 90th birthday party which we attended in Chesterton, IN. My email is [email protected] if anyone would like to contact me.

Dr. Bloom was such a happy soul with great energy and compassion! I began seeing him years ago for my skin cancers because he did Mohs surgery. He was always thorough, asked about my life, told me some jokes to ease the fear I felt, and always made me feel listened to and cared for. Thank you Dr. Bloom for your dedication to your patients like me.....you will be greatly missed by all!

I was a patient of Dr. Bloom´s for about 2 years before he closed his practice in Lubbock, TX. I loved going to him. He was so funny always joking around making you feel at ease. My condition was a mystery he would always tell me but he said we will figure it out! He didn´t before he left but he had it under control. I am now flared up again so was looking for another dermatologist when I found his obituary. I´m just so sad... my condolences to his family. He was a great doctor and wonderful man.

My 90yr old mother had been a patient of Dr. Bloom for many years. I'd taken her for the last 5 or so, and was always so impressed with his care and concern for her with his knowledgeable, joyful and helpful bedside manner. When I needed a dermatologist in 2019, knew immediately who I'd be seeing, the pleasant Dr. Bloom. Today, Dec 21st, 2021, I needed to make an appointment and was devastated to hear this great man had died. May the Lord comfort his wife, family and all who were blessed to be in his world.

I remember Bob and Kathy from medical school before he moved to Texas. Kathy took such good care of the children often alone during a exhausting medical school and residency. My heart goes out to the family as they grieve for their father.

Dr. Bloom was amazing. He was the only one to diagnose my daughters skin condition nad helpedher tremendously. He pulled me outside to ask questions because my daughter is so shy. I knew right then I had found a gem of a doctor. He also helped my son with his acne. We bonded because my daddy was U.S. Navy. He made a huge impact in our lives from the care he delivered. He was amazing. I just found this out when I called to make an appointment for myself. I ma so sorry for this great loss. Many prayers for the family. He is missed.

Dr Bloom was a wonderful, wonderful man! My mom worked for him when I was 4. He even stitched my head while using the light from his kitchen stove. He asked to see the scar 40 years later. To which I replied, "No scar, you did it." Thats just who he was. Truly amazing!! He was the only person, doctor, and friend I trusted unconditionally. I will always remember his precious soul!

I was his patient and fellow retired reserve member. The display of his Navy service on the wall of his waiting room was most impressive indicating his pride of service. Captain Bloom, I salute you for your service. He was both a good Doctor and an accomplished person with an outgoing personality. I send my sincerest condolences to his family. May God provide you comfort during this sad time.

Dr. Bloom took care of me after I was diagnosed with a melanoma as a young 20 year old. He was always compassionate and very kind. I struggled emotionally with this & he never dismissed my anxieties. I’m so very thankful for his care at a difficult time. I just turned 60 and have been blessed with a wonderful life.

My heart goes out to Bobby, John, Mike, and Marjorie, who i wouldn't even have the pleasure of knowing if it weren't for their Mother, Kathy, who is a dear dear friend of mine.
When I was a teenager my parents played raquetball with Dr. Bloom at the old YMCA on Avenue Q, here in Lubbock. I barely remember that. It wasn't until I met Kathy at FUMC in the early 2000's that I in turn met their children and subsequently have made fond memories with them.
So, I share my condolences for the whole family, but especially for those I know best: Marjorie, John, Mike, and Bobby, and your children....and your Mother Kathy.

Saddened by the death of Dr. Robert Bloom. May God comfort his family today and in the weeks and months ahead. I am thankful for his knowledge and skills as a dermatologist who treated me with Mohs surgery on three occasions for melanoma and several other occasions of Basal cell cancers. Sending condolences to the whole family. Dr. Bloom was a major positive influence on all of us Tech Terrace kids during the 80s and 90s. He was always welcoming, to the point where the Bloom house served as the de facto neighborhood pool, basketball court and clubhouse. His sense of humor and energy will be missed, but not forgotten.
