I met MSgt Torres in 1982 at Reese AFB. In the beginning of our friendship, he was intimidating. In the end, he was very warm and caring. He provided technical and personal guidance at a critical time for me. I'm very sorry because I miss him as well.

One year ago today, I, along with family, friends, and acquaintances, celebrated the life of Victor Torres. It was befitting this individual, who's greatest accomplishment, among many was to serve his country. He did it with pride and integrity. A period of his life that he "always" held in high regard. Today, one year later, me, my son, victor's only grandson, his son-in-law, along with his sisters and brother, salute him. We love you and miss you, but you are in our hearts always and forever. We love you. R.I.P.

On October 27, 2013 I lost my friend, MY confidant, MY mentor, MY father, and one year later it still feels like it happened yesterday. My entire life my father and I talked, about everything. All of our late night talks will guide me everyday of my life. The greatest thing my father gave me, his time, patience, and wisdom. It made and continues to make me the person I am. I miss him more as everyday passes, but I know he is with me in my heart and soul. R.I.P. Dad. I love you. Victoria

Uncle Vic, I am still saddened to hear of your passing. Although we lived miles apart, I am still aware that you were one of my four great uncles on the Torres side. My heart, and my mother's heart (your dear younger sister Eloisa H. Torres) go out to your family. When reading your obituary today, it made me proud to hear of all of your many great accomplishments in life. You are the definition of someone who works hard and strives to succeed in what they do in life. Leaving behind such a great legacy will not only prove to keep you fond in our memories, but will also instill great motivation in how people conduct their lives. Rest in peace Uncle Victor.

I'm saddened to hear that Sgt. Victor Torres has passed. Like many others, I had the honor of serving with Victor while assigned to the J-85 shop at Reese AFB, 1980-83. It's been a long time but I've always considered Victor a dear friend and a mentor who had a positive influence on my life. I will never forget a bit of advice he gave me to help cope with life…”leave your boots at the door”. Thank you Vic.

Missing and thinking of everyone dearly. It is a difficult time for all but it is fond memories that sustain us at moments like this. Also the wonderful promise God has given at Revelation21:4 "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

What can I say about losing my oldest Brother Victor other than I loved you always & spoke Highly of you to anyone that would listen to me. Even though the distance kept us apart from one another, it never stopped me from being proud of being your younger Brother & being respectful of all your accomplishments. I tried so hard to be just like you, but time made me realize there could only be one Victor H. Torres. I had to learn to follow my own dreams & I can only hope you felt I was just as successful as you. And I am now a better person for that. Yes.....I will miss you , but I know you are now at your greatest peace & that you get to be with all those we so dearly love & lost. May God comfort you & greet you with open arms. Until we see one another again please watch over my Daughter Brynna & let her know Mom & Dad pray every nite to some day be with her again. You will always be in my prayers Big Brother. As the only Brother left behind now, I will hold the torch up high .....until it goes out for me. Rest in Peace Vic. Your Brother Richard
