Walter Earnest Obituary

Walter Earnest Walter Walt Earnest, 96, of Olton, died Friday, September 16, 2011 in Plainview. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Olton Cemetery with Glenn Harlin and Chris Downer officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Walter was born February 25, 1915 in Jourdanton, Texas to Frank and Jenny Marshall Earnest. He married Wilma Davis on August 11, 1948 in Ft. Worth and worked at Phillips Petroleum in Borger from 1952 to 1959. He moved to Springlake and was the ginner at Springlake Coop Gin until becoming the mill manager at Olton Feedyard in 1972. He moved to Olton in 1974 and retired from the feedyard in 1980. One of his greatest loves was Bob Wills music. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Earnest of Olton; three sons, Walter M. Earnest, II and his wife, Carol of Bryan, Frank B. Earnest of Louisiana, and Bo Earnest of Amarillo; and one daughter, Lauren Busby and her husband, Steve of Springlake. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
