BOB BRADLEY Obituary

BOB BRADLEY Bob Bradley, 73, departed this good Earth Sept. 21, 2012. Born the eldest of four children to Charles and Davita (Haas) Bradley in Liberal, Kansas, Bob moved to Boulder City in 1958. He worked initially with his father at the family's Boulder City Richfield station/garage after graduating high school. Mechanically inclined, Bob also worked at Hoover Dam and, through his working relationship and friendship with Ted Wiens Sr., he opened Bob Bradley's Marine Services in 1969. A lover of water, and rivers in particular, Bob raced jet boats internationally and became an international celebrity when he raced to win Mexico's Rio Balsas jet boat race in the 1970s. Republican politics, woodworking, reading, cooking, watching old westerns on Saturday and Sunday mornings, NASCAR, riding either of his two customized Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spending quality time with his significant other, Shelley Cranley, were high on Bob's list of interests. Along with his uncle, Gary Haas, a long list of cousins, lifelong friends around the world and Marine Services clients he considered friends, Bob spoke proudly of his daughter and the two sons he leaves behind, Amy Cathleen DeLoux (son-in-law, Danny) of Colorado, John William "Bill" (fiancee, Missy) of California, and Christopher Robert "Bobby" of Las Vegas. Bob lived a very rich and full life-cheers to Bob for embracing life and sharing it generously with the rest of us! A memorial service has been announced.

It´s 12 years since Bob passed. His name comes up in conversation frequently among his friends. Gone is any semblance of Marine Services, his old haunt Bailey´s and his home is now occupied by new owners. Still, his spirit is present...it´s comforting. Cheers to you Bob...keep that light on!

Another year has passed and Bob continues to shine his bright light and love for life down on those of us who knew him and who love him. He is surely so very proud of his son Bobby, who has grown into a very fine man. Cheers, Bob - there´s an Amber Bock waiting for you!

Ten years now. Time passes quickly - a reminder to all of us us about the importance of embracing life and love - it can be fleeting!

Eight years now. Bob’s name and stories about him come up periodically in conversations, and it always brings a smile. He would be going crazy about politics this year, so I know that he and my mother are having knock down, drag out conversations “upstairs”...always delightful to listen to their banter - so much for resting in peace! Thanks for the treasured memories. CBD! ❤

It's almost a year now since Bob physically left us. He passed on the gift of life to others through his organ donations, and he passed on a legacy of love, fun and good humor to me...I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to share in his life.

I recall being in his shop my last visit 2 months prior to his passing, I had been to other boat shops looking for a old set of points that no other shop could find.Bob was on the phone at his desk yackin so I had time to look around at everything, noticing years of accumulation and skill, it seemed surreal that I wondered to myself what will happen when this brilliant guy full of knowledge is gone? Another 1 of a kind that will leave a gaping hole to fill in his vocation I concluded. Bob finished his call and searched for my part, which he didn't have but he found an exact replacement part for an entirely different engine that would work, and it did :) my boat finally started and runs great. I even bothered him asking "will this part work Bob are you sure" lol. He said " trust me, yes" and I thanked him and left. Great guy, another old school Vegas genius lost to history. Thanks for getting my oldie running Bob.

Had a great time with Bob in the LV Boat & Ski club, especially at the 50-75 milers back in the 70's. My son & I had just talked about him last month & what a super guy he was. Sincere sympathies to his family and friends. I know he will be tremendously missed.

The brief time i've known of Bob, I'm certain he was blessed and loved because he had his family, friends, and his better half who is one of the most "special" women I have been blessed to know! R.I.P. Mr. Bradley!

Bob showed me how to love and be loved - a tremendous loving and caring relationship...treasured memories of our too short time together; just long enough to want more and more. CBD = Celebrate Bob Day!
