CHARLES EBERT M.D. III

CHARLES EBERT III, MD Charles David Ebert III, MD, 79, passed away April 15, 2018, at his California home. His wife, Debbie, and his youngest son, Chase, were by his side. A resident of Las Vegas for 30 years, Charles served as president of the Clark County Medical Society and of the Nevada State Medical Association. He studied medicine at George Washington University, served his country as a U.S. Air Force flight surgeon and practiced for over 50 years before retiring in 2015. He was an Eagle Scout and touched countless lives through Scouting, serving on the Boulder Dam Area Council Board and as Assistant Scoutmaster of Las Vegas's Troop 700. After retirement, he launched a second career as an artist, completing his final piece in March 2018. Charles wanted no funeral, wishing his passing to be a cause for celebration of a good life rather than sadness. Instead, he asked that we raise a glass to his memory. He lived on the beach, he lived in the mountains and it is at his former home on Mount Charleston that we picture him now that he has followed his mother, father and cherished friends out of the valley, above the ridge, where eagles call and soar. In addition to his wife Debbie and son Chase, Dr. Ebert is survived by four children from a previous marriage and 10 grandchildren: Charles David Ebert IV (Cami), Charles David V, Joshua Brooks, and Caleb Taylor; Heath Reynolds Ebert (Tara), Sarah Grace, Heath Ian, Hannah Faith, and Isaiah Mason; Heather Anne Ebert; and Channing Danielle Ebert DeShong (Philly), Isabelle Alida, Tiger Isaiah, and Nevaeh Abigail. Dr. Ebert is predeceased by his father, Charles David Ebert Jr., and his mother, Sarah Reynolds Ebert.
