Edward Zorn Obituary

Edward E. Zorn Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand-father and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Las Vegas, Oct. 9, 2005. Ed was born May 3, 1931, in Bamberg County, S.C., and had resided in Las Vegas since 1957, having moved from Aiken, S.C. Ed was first employed at the James Cashman Company, EG&G and was an executive officer with First Western Savings Association. He was a former president of the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. His passions were family, flying and playing golf having caddied for such legends as Sam Snead at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C., and the Augusta National in Augusta. Ga. Ed was born to Edward E. Zorn Sr. (deceased), and mother, Dorothy K. Zorn who resides in Aiken, S.C. He is survived by his brothers, Ron (Indiana) and Steven (South Carolina); his wife, of 51 years, Jean Yandle Zorn; and children, Edward Zorn, III, Katherine Kelley Houston (Joseph II) and Karen Alane Zorn, reside in Las Vegas. Grandchildren are Cynthia Long (Jason R.) of Henderson, Christopher Zorn (Karen) of Sandy, Ore., Taylor Houston, Autumn Houston, Dylan Houston, Evelyn Elliott and Blake Pride-Zorn, all of Las Vegas. Surviving great-grandchildren, Tyler Long and Tori Long of Henderson. Friends and family will gather at the Zorn residence after a memorial service in Arizona, Oct. 22. Ed was truly a Southern gentleman and will be loved forever for his goodness and warmth of spirit. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
