Jason Niño Obituary

Jason Curtis Niño quietly shuffled off this mortal coil Sunday afternoon, March 12 2017. A son, a brother, a nephew, an uncle, a lover, a friend, and a fighter until the end. Jason Niño leaves behind his fiancé, Zachariah Lee Witham; his older brother, Joel Christopher Niño; his twin brother, Jeremy Carson Niño; younger brothers, Jeffrey Crillin Niño and Riley Craig Barlow; parents, John Christopher Nino, Piere Lee Ann Barlow and Craig Alan Barlow; nieces, Jade Raquel Niño and Lydia Winifred Niño; nephew, John Craig Niño; and a countless amount of friends and family who will forever remember the light and joy he had in the short time he spent with us on this Earth. We celebrate his life as he wanders to "the undiscovered country, from whose bourn no traveller returns." He was born to John and LeeAnn a minute after his twin brother, Jeremy, Halloween 1986. A native of Las Vegas, he first acquired his love for acting in Ulis Newton Elementary at a student talent show. He later joined the Burkholder Middle School Drama Club and attended four years of theater at Foothill High School. Almost immediately, he began winning awards from competing in National Tournaments for Speech and Debate, Dramatic Arts and Theater. He continued to purse his passion throughout college and was regularly seen around the community in various roles. Jason was an actor. A director. A writer. A producer. A singer. A performing artist. A business owner. A political activist. After college, Jason founded Chaos Theatre Company and was involved in over 25 shows around the Las Vegas Valley. He met Zachariah Witham in 2012 and the two were inseparable even into his final days. Jason Niño was a rising star in the world whose life was sadly cut short. He will be missed not only for his creativity and prowess in the theatre community, but for his friendly demeanor, generous smile and selfless attitude. Jason left an impression that some fail to make in their entire lifetime. We may long to see the shows that might have been, but his courageous spirit will linger for years to come. We will be celebrating his life at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the Art Square Theater, located at 1025 S. First St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.

Jason, I will always remember how talented you are. I loved when you came to my house in August after Matt's surgery and you and Matt had such a nice time and you were looking so good. Bless you, sweetheart. You were a true fighter.

Zachariah Witham's mother and I loved Jason very much. We are deeply saddened by his passing and mourn the loss of this great young man. We will forever miss his beautiful smile, his positive energy and the love he shared with all of us. Jason, thank you for being part of our lives. Thank you for loving Zach. We send our deepest condolences to Jason's family and friends.

We never met, Jason, but I was aware of your struggle by way of Zach's communications. Dios te bendiga. If Zach loved you -- and I know he did -- that good enough for me... so do I.
