JEFFERY MINTZ Obituary

JEFFERY MINTZ Jeffery "Jeff" Adam Mintz, 55, died tragically on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jeff was born January 4, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio and was raised in the Chicago area. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, and earned his law degree at DePaul University. In addition to his careers in law and business, Jeff served as the president of Congregation B'nai Israel, in Rochester, MN. He enjoyed attending stand-up comedy shows, acting and playing Scrabble and Boggle, but more than anything, he loved music. Jeff sang in numerous bands, hosted karaoke parties in his home, and had become a karaoke DJ in the Twin Cities. He took immense pleasure in watching his children sing, act, play guitar and perform. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Alan Mintz and survived by his mother, Rabbi Yocheved Mintz; children, Lee and Gabrielle Mintz; ex-wife, Kristy Johnston Mintz; siblings, Ari Mintz and Anne Hunting, Steve and Trish Mintz, and Jon Mintz and Erin Trowbridge; nieces and nephews, Tani, Abby (Zach), Rachel, Molly, Sophie, Heidi, Jack, Judah, Willow, Justin (Kate), Field (Sandy) and William; as well as countless cousins and loving friends. Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and State of Nevada health regulations, Jeff's funeral and burial services will be limited to his family members. Services will be live-streamed at https://tinyurl.com/jamintz on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00PM at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, Las Vegas, NV. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Congregation P'nai Tikvah of Las Vegas, NV or Jewish Family Service Agency of Las Vegas. King David Memorial Chapel handled these arrangements.

I didn´t know Jeff well; I met him at karaoke where we sang a duet together. I just heard this terrible news last night when I asked about him at the bar where I met him. I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Jeff´s family and friends. I only spent time with him briefly, but it was a joyous, happy time, and I consider myself so lucky to have been able to share in that moment with Jeff.
Please take care and know that Jeff made positive impacts and memories to those he met.

I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all family members mourning the death of your beloved Jeff.
Kristy is a friend of mine and a former colleague. I reached out to Jeff a few years ago when a family member was going through some difficulties and he was both gracious and generous with his time. My family and I were so grateful for his kindness and insight.
I watched the funeral online -- it was a beautiful service and tribute, indicative of a person who was highly regarded by his family and friends for his sensitivity, humor and musical ability. I was particularly touched that his mother, Rabbi Yocheved, conducted the service with such dignity and strength. What a tremendous gift to her son and testament of her character. I will not soon forget this act of love.
Lee, Gabrielle..... there are no words. My heart aches for you for the loss of your father. Kristy, I am so very sorry. If I may be of any help, please don't hesitate to reach out. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Carl's, as well. Elizabeth Nida Obert
