JEFFREY CARLIS Jeffrey Ray Carlis, of Las Vegas, passed away suddenly Sept. 20, 2016. Jeff Carlis never met a stranger, and loved his extensive list of friends, business associates family and life with a fullness not often seen. He was a sensitive, caring man who consistently reached out to all who he knew with a kind word or a loving gesture. A graduate of USC, Jeff has lived in Las Vegas for more than 20 years. Jeff was an avid golfer. He was honorable, sincere, generous and loving to the end. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray. Jeff is survived by his mother, Claire Carlis; sister, Marla Carlis; nephew, Shane Carlis Stoutsenberger; and a myriad of friends. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Burial to follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Memorial donations may be made in Jeff's honor to the Sapphire Foundation for Prostate Cancer.

Jeff was truly a friend to all. I met him on several occasions, he usually picked us up at the airport himself. What a great guy and Las Vegas lost a bit of color that day. Bless you Jeffrey and my prayers and thoughts go to his family.

Jeff and I would go to all the major fights in Las Vegas. I would fly in from New Jersey and have dinner on Thurs and go to the fights on Sat. My wife and I would like to send our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Carlis family. Had it not been for Jeff, I would have never met the love of my life, my beautiful wife Lorri. Jeff was always kind, and a very giving man, and I will always be greatful and consider myself to have been blessed in having had the gift of Jeff's friendship. Jeff and I played the legendary Wilt Chamberlain and his partner in an amazing tennis match one day and night at the LVCC. Lost the first set, 3-6, and won ALL of the next countless sets until Wilt finally said "Uncle".
A memory and gift that keeps on giving.

Jeff was a dear business associate. His depth of knowledge in the restaurant industry was very helpful to me in making long term restaurant leases in Las Vegas take place with his guidance.
