Dearest Dr. Routh

January 14, 2020

To Mrs. Routh and family.
I was a patient of your wonderful husband since I had come to Las Vegas around 2010. I know not very long ago but having him be my cardiologist to go to, if any problems arose, I felt blessed after meeting a caring, listening, professional, doctor that I felt right away I could put my life in his hands.
I just saw today looking up the practice, because I want another doctor to take over my routine visits, and saw your husband had passed, I literally broke down. It took me a while to contain myself, as I always told people if they were in need of a cardiologist, Dr. Jerry Routh was the only man to see.
I am a nurse, retired, and have been a widow losing my husband to cancer 30 years ago. I cannot and will not even insult you to say I know how you feel. I do know on a human level how it feels to lose the love of your life.
I respected your husband as a professional beyond anything I could say. Our loss is great losing a physician who saved lives, made some lives longer or easier, I am sure sat by their bedside and listened, etc.
We were blessed to have Dr. Jerry Dennis Routh M.D. as our healing caring physician.
You and your children were blessed to share a lifetime with him, although not long enough. I cannot express my sorrow and sympathy in words properly enough, Mrs. Routh. But know there are thousands of hearts aching with the passing of your loving husband. I am extremely sorry.

My condolences to your family. I was a patient of Jerry's for many years.. he ultimately saved my life. He was the kindest, and most caring person and definitely a very special friend. I have missed him greatly since his retirement, and am now saddened by your loss. I was SO honored when he came to my wedding in June of 2018. Again, my warmest regards to you and family.
Sincerely, Nancy Helm (Graham)

Jerry and I knew each other best in Junior High! In high school he was very ambitious with definite goals to achieve. After graduation, we lost touch, but I am glad we were able to reconnect at our 50th high school reunion. He displayed that compassion for others in our class who were suffering that only comes from having suffered oneself. He led a well-lived life of service to others. I am sorry he has left us so soon, but am grateful he is no longer suffering. Blessings to his wife Cheryl and his children and grandchildren.

Cheryl and family,

My deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your family. When I heard them news from my other friend, Kurtis Naegle, I was sadden and shocked.
We were in Boy Scout back in 1996-98. He was a great teacher and leader in the scout troop 848. He's in my heart and will always have memories when we went camp. It was great moment.

Cheryl and family,
Jerry came to Las Vegas just as i was becoming in charge in CCU.
I will always be grateful for his mentorship. He was a great teacher and cardiologist, and never failed in being kind to the nursing staff and of course, to his patients.
May your faith sustain you during this difficult time.
