I never had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Castor; however, I did go to Micheal Jackson's Tourture Tour, with Mr. Castor's lovely daughter April. April and I shared that unbelievable moment in the 11th row of Giant Stadium, and I just want to say thank you.

I knew jimmy Castor when he played the clubs in Harlem. He
was a favorite at Smalls Paradise. He was also unlike other musicians. He didn't hang out, was never disrespectful.. and did not mingle after his shows. he was very clean cut and honest. I joined
and art group years later and worked with his half brother michael.
after meeting Jimmy's Father and step Mother,..I that he was raised
in aloving and middleclass home.

Jimmy and I go back to our teen years in New York when we were both beginners in show business. I was so glad to meet him again here in Vegas and to get to meet his daughters at his Trader Vic's show and at other venues. My heartfelt sympathy to Sandi and all the family. I will keep Jimmy in my heart and in my thoughts. His memory will live with me.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Castor after his performance in Phila. Not only was he a great musician, but he was a wonderful person. I interviewed him for Right On magazine and attended every concert between Philly & NY..He was and will remain one of the most gracious and humble person I have ever met..I am so saddened by his death..My sincere condolences to his family...

Jimmy performed in Pittsburgh several years ago for the SOC club & possibly earlier for the PORCC club. He was with the Teenagers at the time singing. He was such a great guy and singer. I feel badly that he is gone way too soon. My Prayers are with his family and loved ones.

I first heard the Jimmy Castor Bunch in 1972 on WRAP 850 AM in Virginia while early in the 7th Grade @ Carver Elementary School. They was the first non-Motown group I became fascinated with. Later, I was blessed to see the Bunch perform on Ellis Haslip's "SOUL" on PBS. I was thrilled with "Hey Leroy (The Creature From The Black Lagoon Is Your Father!); "The First Time Ever (I Saw Your Face)"; and several other tunes they performed. In 1979, the last 45 by The Jimmy Castor Bunch I bought was his instrumental of "The Christmas Song". I have never heard it on the radio.
Rest in Peace, I will now have to rely on seeing you again on YouTube.
