Link Marshall Obituary

LINK MARSHALL Link Van Marshall, 52, an automotive technician, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 27, 2009, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. He was born July 8, 1957, in Salt Lake City, the eldest of three boys, to Van Alden and Lois Janae Marshall. After moving to Las Vegas, Link graduated from Vo-Tech High School with a concentration in automotive repair. Link's loyalty toward Cashman Cadillac (later Cadillac of Las Vegas) developed early in his life, when he began working as an apprentice, until the age 18 when he became a full-time mechanic. Link was certified in every area of automotive repair, achieving a master technician status. He was the best in his field. Link loved his job and often brought it home with him. His driveway constantly showcased his side jobs and extra projects because he could never tell a friend "no". Link enjoyed his life to the extreme and filled it with great times camping, hunting, dirt bike racing, cheering for the Denver Broncos and being surrounded by his entire family. Link will be deeply missed. He is survived by his father; two brothers; six children; six grandchildren (plus one on the way); and his beautiful Suzie. Please join Link's family and friends in a celebration of life service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Lone Mountain Park, 4445 N. Jensen Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89129. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends contribute to a memorial fund established at Wells Fargo Bank in honor of Link to benefit his three youngest children.

Link was the best mechanic in the world,in my opinion.
even though he loved his work so much there was days I wished he could relax
but he would always either work overtime or bring his side jobs home ---to make mo' money.

nobody but himself -could work that fast
and get the job done more right than him

IF IT WAS ANYBODY ELSE, THEY COULDNT OF LASTED THAT LONG

your father left you a legacy which all of you will inherit...so far beyond
anyones imagination, beyond those whom compare.
I am so blessed your his children, to carry that on...for everyone to share.

Thank you susie for being there

I was with Link at Vo-tech our junior and senior year. He would help me in the shop whenever I asked for it. It was nice to see he went on to excel in the trade.

Dear Van, Jim, and Zane,

Growing up, all of you were more like family than friends. I have fond memories of camping and fishing trips. I remember Link's smile most of all - impish, fun and from the inside-out. Van, I will always be appreciative of how good you were to my dad. He considered you a best friend. And for Janae, who was my mom's best friend. I pray God's comfort and strength as you lean on Him. God bless. 2 Cor. 4:17, 18

The world will be a lesser place without Link. I worked with Link at Cashman's for 17 years and we had some real good times together hanging out and riding bikes.

Link was Superman, the Hulk, he seemed invincible, he always had your back. Went on many rides with him and his best friend Mike. Lost touch with him for many years, but called him before he passed away and got to talk to him one more time. My mom and his mom were the best of friends, I pray and hope that they are all looking down on us right now in Gods total peace and love, free of this world, yet missing us all very much I am sure; but in a far much better place. Rest and enjoy the light, warmth and Gods love now Link, you will be truly missed. My heart goes out to the family and friends who have lost this incredible man. MJB/CA
