LORRAINE QUINN Obituary

LORRAINE QUINN Lorraine Bennett Quinn, 55, was killed in a tragic car crash May 10, 2012, in Palestine, Texas. She was born in New York, July 24, 1956. She grew up in Henderson, and spent the last 18 years in Winnsboro, Texas, 12 years as a substance abuse counselor for the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. Lorraine worked hard and went back to school to get her degree to do the kind of work that meant so much to her. She loved nature and her favorite things were horses, camping, boating, hiking, photography, sewing, jewelry making and traveling. She was also a musician and artist who shared her work with so many others. She was well-known for her quilt making for the sick and for her family as well. She is survived by her brothers, Steve Bennett and Mike Bennett (her twin), sisters, Arlene Munford and Diane Bennett, their spouses; and her sweetheart, Keith Stone. She had a special bond with her nephews and nieces; she made our children her children and loved them all. She touched so many people and will be missed terribly by everyone. Lorraine also volunteered at an animal shelter and any small donations to a local shelter of choice was her wish. Services for Lorraine were performed at Beatty Funeral Home in Winnsboro, where we were awed at the huge number of fine folk of Texas who came out to tell us how she had touched their lives. The family was presented with a Texan flag for Lorraine's service to the state by the honor guard. The family wants to thank everyone for their prayers, support and love during this sad time. Lorraine was a very spiritual person and we believe her thoughts would be, "When the Earth claims your limbs, then you can truly dance!"
