Maria Flint Obituary

MARIA FLINT Maria Vogelzang Flint, 61, of Las Vegas, lost her battle to cancer April 25, 2011, surrounded by the love of close friends and family. She was born Nov. 17, 1949, in Nijmegen, Netherlands, and was a 35-year resident of Nevada. Maria was employed in accounting and retail industries. When she emigrated to the U.S. in 1976, she was proud to call Las Vegas her home. Maria was a devoted wife, mother and "Oma" and will always be remembered for her warm sense of humor. Having fluency in four languages, love for her career and zeal for life, her family and children always came first. Maria is survived by her husband, Harold C. Flint; her children, Sean P. Flint, Dianitia M. Flint and Richard N. Flint, all of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, Anneke Buck and Nicholas Flint. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

I wish I could have spent more time with her, I wish she could have seen my first band concert, I wish she could have met both of my little brothers. But sometimes people have to leave too soon. From all of the story's I have heard of her I know she was an amazing person with a great sense of humor who could cheer anyone up. She cared about her family and friends. She was just an amazing person who is missed everyday by everyone who knew her. We love and miss you oma.

Here is a video that Maria's son Sean made in her memory. He's an amazing guy and was really her pride and joy. He obviously felt the same about Maria. Rest in peace, my dear friend and confidant.

Dear Sean and Dianie,
I was very saddened when I learned of your mom's passing.
I have very fond memories of her and will forever regret not saying goodbye.
She was always there for me and I wish I could have seen her.
I'm here, Sean if you want to talk.
Take care,
Amy
