1940 - 2020

Mohammad (Moe) Ehsan, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend passed on November 24, 2020. Born in 1940 in Tehran, Iran, Moe came to the United States as an 18 year old looking for his American dream. Following in the footsteps of cousins who came before him, he attended Hartnell College in Salinas, CA. There, he met and married Tommie Caroline Henderson and together they had two daughters. Moe moved to the Los Angeles area and quickly made a name for himself in the food and beverage industry managing such legendary Hollywood restaurants as Stefanino's and Nicky Blair's. In 1974, Moe moved to Las Vegas where he took on the esteemed position of Captain of the MGM Showroom. Moe eventually made his way to Caesar's Palace where he opened the Spanish Steps Restaurant before moving to the Bacchanal Room. In 1984, Moe moved back to Los Angeles and began a successful career in commercial real estate. He earned the distinguished designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) from the CCIM Institute and the Certified Property Manager (CPM) certification from the Institute of Real Estate (IREM) where he was also a past president. Eventually making his way back to Las Vegas, Moe retired from Clark County Management Corporation after 27 years as the Director of Property Management. Moe's charisma, elegance, and generosity were unmatched. He was a legend of a man who lived life on his own terms and left giant footprints on the earth and on many hearts. Moe was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica on December 2, 2020 surrounded by 10 loved ones as per the City's COVID guidelines at the time. He is survived by his daughters, Tami Canovas and Monique Ehsan, four grandchildren, four siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
