PAUL BEAULIEU Obituary

CMSGT PAUL BEAULIEU U.S. Air Force, Retired Chief Master Sgt. Paul "Andy" Beaulieu, 86, U.S. Air Force, (ret.), passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2017, in Las Vegas, with his wife and daughter at his side. Paul was born March 29, 1931, to Leo H. and Robea (Ducharme) Beaulieu in Lowell, Mass., the youngest of six children. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1949. He joined the Air Force after graduation and spent most of his 31 years of service in the Pacific area. It was in Japan where he met and married his wife, of 66 years, Sachiko. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1981, Paul and Sachiko moved to Mililani, Hawaii, where he enjoyed a year of being a beach bum and indulging in his favorite hobby of eating sushi and watching both military and civilian planes landing. Paul began Civil Service work at Hickam AFB. Retiring after more than 10 years as a GM-13. Paul and Sachiko then moved to Las Vegas to be closer to their daughter and grandson. He enjoyed living in Las Vegas. He also loved to singalong with the church choir at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Mostly, he was fascinated by the mountains that surrounds the city and loved going to Red Rock Canyon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John (Grace) Beaulieu; sisters, Gabriel (Robert) Healy and Doris (Burdell) Spencer; niece, Jennifer Spencer; and great-nephew, Alex Haas. Paul is survived by his wife, Sachiko; daughter, Sandra McGill; grandson, Daryl McGill; brother, Maurice (Janet) Beaulieu; sister, Lucille (William) Gilcreast; and many family and friends. Service will be at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.

Paul (also known as Andy at times) was the best mentor I had in 34 years in the AF. Paul took the time and had the patience to help many young officers to see the way of their errors and how to make both ourselves and the AF a better place to be...even though we didn't want to listen sometimes. I don't know how many times a short-notice tasker came in and we thought it would take a long time to just understand the problem...while Paul already had the answer due to his experience...and he shared with us how to close the issue easily. I miss you Paul...and hope to see you on the other side!

Thank you for your service. Many mothers around the world, like myself, greatly appreciate the sacrifice you made so that our sons would not be forced into service.
