RICHARD LAZO Obituary

RICHARD LAZO Richard (Dick) Lazo passed away November 13, 2020. He died peacefully at his home in Las Vegas, of natural causes under the care of Nathan Adelson Hospice. He was 93 years of age. He was born October 25, 1927 in Cheyenne, WY to Richard Lazo and Emilia Cordero. Dick moved at an early age to Los Angeles with his family and became a lifelong resident in the City of Angels. He had just recently moved with his wife Marian from Glendale, CA to Las Vegas, to be closer to his beloved grandchildren. During World War II, Dick attended Belmont High School in Los Angeles. After high school Dick joined the Army and served in the Pacific at the end of the war. He was honorably discharged in 1947. After getting out of the Army, Dick worked in the Trucking Industry for many decades. He had driven for Braswell, Garrett, Yellow Freight Lines, and See's Candies among others. He was a long-time member of the Teamsters Line Drivers Union Local 224 of Los Angeles. Dick married Marian Belcher in 1964 in Las Vegas. They were happily married for 56 years. Dick is survived by his wife Marian Lazo, his daughter Louise Bartlett, son-in-law Brian Bartlett, granddaughter Emily, grandson Ian (all of Las Vegas), sister Grace Cabrera of Los Angeles and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Dick was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Emilia Lazo, and sisters Peggy, Emma, Pauline and Mary. Services will be at 2pm Mon., Dec 21 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
