Tina McCarley Obituary

Tina Lockwood McCarley, 44, of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 26, 2004. She was born Aug. 12, 1959 in Portsmouth, Va. She was a resident of Las Vegas for five years. Tina volunteered over 1100 hours as a Candy Striper at Ridgecrest Community Hospital in Ridgecrest, Calif., before joining the U.S. Navy in 1977. She graduated from the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps School as an emergency medical technician. Tina continued her education at San Diego Community College and became a medical examiner for insurance companies. In 1994 she established an epilepsy support group in Ridgecrest, Calif. Tina was last employed as an exhibit assistant at Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas. Tina is survived by her parents, Frank and Audrey Lockwood; and her daughter, Heather Lockwood, all of Las Vegas. Her daughter, Christina Shaw of Jacksonville, N.C.; a brother, Frank Lockwood, Jr., presently in Taiwan, ROC; a brother, Robert Lockwood of Pascagoula, Miss.; a sister, Tammy Reed of Henderson. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. With a heart as big as all outdoors, Tina will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Spencer St., Las Vegas, NV 89119. No services scheduled. Arrangements will be handled by Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home.
