Ernest Sampson Obituary

Sampson, Ernest, age 80, joined Jesus on April 22, 2015. Ernest was born April 1, 1935 in Mount Clemens to his parents, Raymond and Caroline Sampson. Ernest retired from Eaton Corporation as a Design Engineer and later Arvin Meritor. He holds multiple patents in the automotive field. He loved fishing and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Ernest is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 60 years; his children, Joan (John) Freeman, Fr. Ernest (Deb) Sampson, and Sherrie (Greg) Savela; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was the loving brother to Carl Sampson, Leone Retko, Carol Hinshaw, Susan Sampson, Wallace Sampson and Edward Sampson. Ernest was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Sampson and Richard Sampson. Per Ernest’s request, no funeral is planned. The family ask in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either Henry Ford Hospital call Tina 586-263-2968 or Bentoya Fund call Shelby Veterinary Hospital at 586-781-8888, in Ernest’s memory.
