Markus, Robert P. “Bob”, age 73, of St. Clair Township, formerly of Englewood, Florida, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016. He was born August 29, 1942 in Mount Clemens to the late Paul and Margaret Markus. He married Carol L. Knesbeck on June 28, 1987 in Richmond. Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University and MBA from Central Michigan University. Throughout his career he worked as Assistant Fire Chief in Harrison Township, as director of the Paramedic program for Macomb County Community College, as director of the Richmond Lenox E.M.S., and as a volunteer firefighter in Lexington. Bob was a 30-year volunteer with the American Red Cross. He was an avid sailor who once completed an Atlantic crossing, enjoyed wintering on his boat in the Bahamas, and was a former member of the Port Huron Yacht Club. He is survived by his wife, Carol; four children, Kelly (Scott) Evans, Mary Hart, Rebecca (Juan) DeLaEspriella, and Jim (Maire) Cracchiolo; seven grandchildren, Noah, Connor, Isabella, Michael, Logan, Elizabeth, and Vinny; a brother, Rick (Charlene) Markus; a sister-in-law, Bev Markus; brother-in-law, Don Knesbeck; Jamaican son, Robert Campbell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Markus. Private family services have been held. Memorials may be made to the Richmond Lenox E.M.S. Arrangements are by Marysville Funeral Home.
