Anne Damato Obituary

Anne Damato
August 29, 1927 - January 15, 2022
Jacksonville, Florida - Surrounded by her devoted family, Anne Kirby Damato, 94, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on January 15, 2022.
Anne was born in Macon, GA on August 29, 1927, to the late Lottie Redmond Kirby and Harry Charles Kirby. In 1944 Anne moved to Jacksonville, FL where she met her future husband, the late Joseph Richard Damato.
In addition to her work as homemaker and mother, Anne retired after a 25-year career with Bell South. During her retirement, Anne was an ambitious traveler and worked serving others at Assumption Catholic Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. While her many life experiences made her a charming conversationalist, it was her natural charm and grit that defined her: a real Steel Magnolia.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-parents, Albert Masters and Rose Elizabeth Long Kirby Masters, and daughter, Micky Fonseca. She is survived by her children; Kay Gowan, Rick Damato (Micki), Terry Miller (Tom Hughes), Patti Mathis (Jeff), Charlie Damato (Jill), Larry Damato (Becky); Christy Greuter (Ken), Jamie Damato (Dawn), and her twenty-one grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Anne Kirby Damato will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, most especially her grateful family.
Final arrangements are by Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. Those wishing to remember Anne, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice in her memory.
