Chad Salter Obituary
February 23, 1970 - May 16, 2013
FORSYTH, GA- Chad Christian Salter, 43, of Forsyth passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 1:00pm at First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Rd. in Macon, GA with Reverend Tim Long officiating.
Mr. Salter received a GED from Griffin Technical College and was employed as a millwright formerly at Georgia Pacific Corporation in Monticello, GA. He was a member of Monroe County Moose Lodge 2424. Before his illness, Chad loved to hunt and fish in the Ocmulgee River near his home.
Mr. Salter is survived by his mother, Evelyn Burney Salter of Forsyth, GA; father and stepmother, Larry and Sherie Salter of Crystal River, FL; one daughter, Ashley Nichole Salter and her three children of Rentz, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Chandler and Jim Shipley of Kathleen, GA and four nieces and nephews, Tyra and Kehl Parker, Jovi and Grace Shipley; and by other aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Chad loved Josh Dupree and raised him as a son from childhood.
Many thanks to Kelly Byrd who helped care for him during his illness and Larry Johnson, a faithful friend who was there to help when needed.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
The family respectfully requests no flowers be sent to the funeral home.
