David Richardson Obituary
December 29, 1937 - December 22, 2020
Greensboro, Georgia - David Richardson, 82, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Vineville United Methodist Church, Christian Life Center. The family requests that attendees wear masks and practice social distancing. Private interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
Mr. Richardson was a life-long resident of Macon. He recently relocated to Greensboro with his wife. He attended Lanier High School, where he played football and was a member of ROTC. He furthered his studies at Georgia Tech, where he received his degree in architecture. During his career as an architect, he worked at Richardson and Associates, Tribble and Richardson, DS Atlantic, and Dunwody Beeland Architects.
Entertaining, cooking, traveling, and reading were activities that the Richardsons both enjoyed. Friends, family, and church were an integral part of life for them. They were members of Vineville United Methodist Church and the Webb Fellowship Sunday School Class. Additionally, Mr. Richardson was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Idle Hour Country Club. He cultivated a deep love and appreciation for the game of golf, which he passed along to his daughter, Kelley. When he was no longer able to play golf, he discovered a passion for painting.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jacquelyn Davis Richardson of Greensboro; daughters, Eden Clark (Johnathan) of Avondale Estates, Georgia, and Kelley Hester (Trey) of Clemson, South Carolina; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hester of Clemson; brothers, Elmo Richardson (Linda) of Macon and Tom Richardson (Mary Jane) of Hinsdale, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

David and I started the Indian Dance Team when we were Camp Ben Hawkins staff members and used our Indian costumes to entertain thousands of audiences from Macon City Auditorium. Janie really High School and many camp sites at Ben Hawkins. David was always a WARRIOR in everything he did and he will be missed by his Lanier classmates of 1956 and those architectural companies that he owned or work for later in his life. He was a STRAIGHT ARROW in everything he did in his LIFE.

David was always such a true Southern Gentleman. Such great times we had as our families gathered for the Ga Tech/ Auburn games. He will be so missed.
