Julie, I did not know about Dwight's passing. I have been sick and missed seeing it in the paper. I just found out about it today (12-8-11). I pray that God will lift you up in his loving arms and comfort you.

Dwight and I were close friends in high school and spent our last summer before college hiking and camping in the Smokies, where we enjoyed some legendary adventures. One spectacular week, we met up with two boys from Macon, Ga who owned a red convertible and an unauthorized, pre-release copy of the Allman Brothers' Eat A Peach, a record that would be released that September. For five days, exploring trailheads, we drove up and down Skyline Drive with haunting tunes like "Blue Sky" and "Ain't Wasting' Time No More" blaring in the mountain breeze. Old Friend, you were a force of life that shall not be forgotten! I offer my sincere condolences to your family and friends and regrets that we never got back to that fried chicken shack you loved so much in Maggie Valley. Growing up and wandering the backroads with you was an honor, Sir.

I usually have bittersweet feelings about a believer “going home” to be with Jesus Christ.
Sorrow for the loss of loving friends and family members, if only for a short time while here on earth having to endure the worldly kingdom without Dwight.
Joy for my brother in Christ who is now face to face with Jesus, enjoying the glory of Heaven with our Lord and Savior. No more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain, no more earthly temptations. Praise God for the promise of glorified bodies and glorified thoughts!

I am so sorry and shocked at your loss. My wife lost her mother suddenly two weeks ago and I can imagine how hard this is for you. Please know you are in our prayers. Lean on the Lord and His comfort. You have hope in Him that will see you through. Lean on your friends also.
