Captain Edmund H. T. Nielsen, USN (Ret) -BOLINGBROKE - Captain Edmund H. T. Nielsen, USN (Ret), 86, of Bolingbroke, GA died Monday, March 16, 2009. -Memorial services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church at a later date. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. -The family may be contacted at 632 Byars Drive, Macon, GA. -In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517, St. James Episcopal Church, 1080 Courtland Avenue, Macon, GA 31204, or to the American Red Cross, 195 Holt Avenue, Macon, GA 31201. Mr. Nielsen was a member of First Lutheran Church in Norfolk, VA and attended St. James Episcopal Church in Macon. -A retired Captain from the United States Navy after twenty years of service, he served in World War II, flew in the Berlin airlift and served in the Korean Conflict. -Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Anna Walker, and her husband, Dr. Gary Walker, of Macon; grandchildren, Captain Erik N. Walker of the United States Marine Corps, Peter C. Walker of Atlanta, GA and Susanne Marie Walker of Orlando, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. -Online register is located at www.hartsmort.com. -Hart's Mortuary & Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
