Hayley Davis Obituary

Hayley D. Davis, 25, of Shaler Township, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021. She is formerly of Buffalo Township. Hayley was born in Monroeville July 12, 1996, a daughter of Donna D. (Wachter) Davis, of Buffalo Township, and William J. Davis, of Buffalo Township. Hayley was a 2014 graduate of Freeport Area High School. Hayley excelled as a distance runner on the Freeport track and cross country teams. She also participated in theater, stage crew and choir. She was a past president of the Freeport Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) and was elected to the statewide DECA Board of Directors. Hayley had studied at Duquesne University. She was an avid marathon runner, competing in the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Boston marathons. She was also a big fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Hayley was employed as a sales agent at Ashley Home Furniture in Pittsburgh and recently received her Real Estate License and was working with Realty ONE Group. Hayley is survived by her mother, Donna D. (Wachter) Davis, of Buffalo Township; her father, William J. "Bill" Davis and his fiancee, Mary Kay Cronin, of Buffalo Township; her sister, Jenna N. Davis, of Millersville; and her maternal grandfather, Donald W. Wachter. She is also survived by aunts, Kim M. Boyd, Bertha Leach and Veronica Kosoglow; as well as uncles, Raul Wachter and Dan Boyd; her cousins, Aaron, Melissa, Laura, Blake, Brian, Dennis, Darren and Michelle; and lifelong friend, Georgianne Lantz and family. Hayley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William E. and Jean Davis; maternal grandmother, Ramona Wachter; her aunt, Carolann Barton; and her uncle, Dennis Kosoglow. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. in Freeport. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in the funeral home with Pastor Adam Clever officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery in Freeport. We ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial trees be planted through contributions to the charity American Forests at give.americanforests.org.

It has been a great deal of time since I last spoken with Hayley. I briefly worked with her at our local hardware store in Sarver where she had often mentioned her future aspirations. This is jarringly devastating news for myself and can only imagine what Jenna, her mother and father must've experienced. I extend my deepest condolences to the Davis family. Hayley, you will continue to be missed.

Aunt Donna, Jenna, and family, Our deepest love and condolences go to you at this difficult time. Hayley was such a vibrant and beautiful young woman. I taught Haley in my Spanish classes "Silvia" was her Spanish name. What a determined, strong young woman she was. I enjoyed following her progress as a runner on Strava. She always had such a quick wit. Godspeed.

I wish there were adequate words to express my condolences for the loss of Hayley. She was a good friend, and I have very fond and happy memories with her. She made a positive impact on the lives of so many, and her presence will genuinely be missed.
