Gayla Molton Obituary

Gayla Paulette Molton
December 25, 1953 - March 24, 2022
Charleston, South Carolina - Gayla Paulette Molton, 68, passed away at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC on March 24 , 2022.
Paulette was born in Macon at the the old Macon Hospital (as was her husband) where they were both delivered by the same doctor. She graduated from Northeast High School where she was a majorette in the school band. After high school, she began working at the First National Bank and Trust Company in Macon later known as SunTrust, where she met her husband to be. After spending some time at other banks in Macon and Bolingbroke, Paulette would eventually retire from SunTrust after 35 years of service. She loved her customers and co-workers, many of which would become life long close friends. When not working, she enjoyed shopping, sunbathing by the pool and spending time with friends and family. She was Polly to her husband, Mama to her boys and Gigi to her grandchildren. It was said by everyone that knew her well that she would meet someone she knew no matter where she went and that was proven to be true many times over.
She is survived by her husband and the love of her life for almost 48 years, Scott Molton; her mother, Carolyn Adams; her sons; Michael and Matthew Molton; her grandchildren; Michael Molton, Avery Molton, Samuel Molton, Carter Molton; her sister, Denise Adams; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
This world is a better place from her being in it and we are all better for having her in our lives. Paulette will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Paulette, my thoughts & prayers are with her husband, sons Michael & Matthew, grandchildren & extended families. Paulette was my banker at SunTrust for years before retiring, but a dear friend who always enjoyed talking about her boys & grandchildren with me. I will surely miss seeing her come in to shop as she always wore a radiant smile that would shine on her beautiful face. I was blessed to meet her from working with Michael years ago & forming a longtime friendship with her. May you all find comfort in the memories you have, as you face this difficult time & find strength through your faith in God, as Paulette shines as a bright angel shining over us all now. God bless all of Paulette's family, friends & co-workers.

Paulette and I were good friends in high school. We enjoyed each other´s company and laughed at the silliest of things. I remember her living in East Macon as I did. She adored her sister, Denise and loved her mama. We visited often. Her love for Scott was strong as was her love for her boys. We spoke of old times several years ago when she lived in Bolingbroke and it was like time hadn´t passed. I will cherish the times we had together. Prayers for you, Scott and your boys as you navigate through such a sad time.
