James Kemp Obituary

Sgt. Major James E. Kemp, Retired -MACON - Sgt. Major James E. Kemp, Retired, 80, of 1554 Highway 49, died Thursday, July 4, 2002. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 8, 2002 at 11:00AM at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. The family may be contacted at the residence. Visitation: Sunday from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Hart's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association Central Georgia Chapter, 277 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Macon, GA 31201. -Sgt. Major James E. Kemp retired from the U. S. Army in 1970 after 30 years of service. He served in World War II as a tail gunner in a B-24. From 1974 until 1988, he worked at Robins Air Force Base as an electronics technician. He was a Methodist. -Survivors: Wife, Ellen Stevens Kemp of Macon; Brothers, George W. Kemp of Cave Springs, GA, Hascal Kemp of Bowdon, GA and Troy Kemp of Carrollton, GA; Sisters, Charlotte Nuckolls and Jerolene Williams, both of Bowdon, GA; Several nieces and nephews. -Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
