Jerry Stuckey Obituary

Jerry E. Stuckey, Sr. -PERRY - Jerry E. Stuckey, Sr., 55, died on Friday, April 18, 2003. A native of Laurens County, he had lived in Houston County for the past 20 years. Mr. Stuckey was a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base with 33 years of service. He had a Masters in Logistics, a Bachelor Degree in Business and an Associate Degree in Engineering. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and was a member of the Perry First Baptist Church. Active in volunteer coaching much of his life, he had coached baseball and softball at Ochlahatchee for 16 years and in American League "Little League" in Warner Robins for two years. -Through his unconditional support for his family, Jerry was able to pass many attributes to his children such as philosophy, baseball, wit, wood working and most of all, his love for the Lord. He wanted each of his children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, emphasizing that "Christ did not come to show us the way, Christ is the only way." He encouraged them through Bible studies, Biblical debates and discussions, home schooling and family devotionals. Everything he did was based around raising his family in a Christian home and watching as his children begin families of their own within the center of God's will. -Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Monday at Perry First Baptist Church with interment in Perry Memorial Gardens with military honors. -Visitation will be 6:00 until 7:30P.M. Sunday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. -Survivors include his wife, Gail F. Stuckey; two daughters, Lora and Dawkins Ennis of Warner Robins and Melissa and Lee Powell of Kathleen; two sons: Andy Stuckey and Jerry E. Stuckey, Jr., both of Perry; two grandchildren: Kymberley and Katelyn Stuckey; his mother, Emma Jean Stuckey of Warner Robins; two brothers, Donald Stuckey of Perry and Alan Stuckey of Warner Robins. He was preceded in death by his father, William T. Stuckey, Jr. -The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 2625 Pierce Avenue, P. O. Box 2065, Macon, GA 31204. -For those who wish to sign the online register, please go to watsonhunt.com.
