John Castleberry Obituary

John David Castleberry -MUSELLA - A memorial service for John David Castleberry, 59, of Musella, will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Crawford County Middle School Auditorium. Mr. Castleberry passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He was a graduate of Crawford County High School and the University of Georgia. Mr. Castleberry was Clerk of Crawford County Superior Court for 28 years, had served as a Cub Scout leader for Troop #264, and was president of Musella Hunting Club for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hubert Castleberry and Willa Carey Castleberry. -Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Castleberry of Musella; two daughters, Staci Castleberry and Carey Threatt (Lamont) of Roberta; step-daughter, Anna Johnson (Tim) of Roberta; sister, Brenda Littlefield of Warner Robins; He was papa to four grandchildren, Skyler Hedley, Cody Threatt, Kayla Johnson and Maddie Johnson; one niece and one nephew also survive. -In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cub Scout Troop #264, 2262 US Highway 80 East, Roberta, Ga 31078. -The family will be meeting at the home of Tim and Anna Johnson, 2262 US Highway 80 East, Roberta, GA 31078. -Goddard - McLeighton Funeral Home of Roberta is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear of Johnny's pre mature death. Some of my fondest memories are of the Musella hunting club when Johnny and your daddy managed it. I made numerous life long friends through that hunting club and although I did not see Johnny for the past several years, I will never forget the memories.
