John Golmitz Obituary

John J. Golmitz -VIENNA - John J. Golmitz, age 70, of Vienna, died Thursday in a Macon hospital. -Born in Hazlehurst, he was the son of the late John and Montine Wyndham Golmitz. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a member of Lilly United Methodist Church and a member of Millwood Masonic Lodge. Mr. Golmitz retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was a Sheet Metal Mechanic. -Survivors include wife, Martha Jean Dorough Golmitz of Vienna; daughter-in-law, Marianne Golmitz of Macon; half sister, Debbie Helmy of Savannah; half brother, Ricky Golmitz of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Kees Golmitz of Macon; Chris Golmitz of Macon. -He was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Golmitz and Jeff Golmitz. -Funeral services will be at 2P.M. Saturday in Lilly United Methodist Church with interment in the Sangster-Dorough Cemetery. -Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. -Memorial gifts may be made to Lilly UMC, c/o Henry Ingram, 309 South Fifth Street, Vienna, Georgia 31092, to Dooly Campground, c/o Kathie Peavy, 2410 Forehand Road, Vienna, GA 31092 or to Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P.O. We still find it hard to believe Johnny is gone. Our thoughts are with you Jean, Mary Anne, Kees and Chris. We wish we could have been there with you but know you are in our hearts. Johnny was special to us. May God bless you with strength and peace.
