John D. was my roommate in college. We were friends for more than 65 years. We met via amateur radio when we were just teenagers in Florida. I'll never forget staying overnight with him at radio station WGGG in Gainesville, FL, where John was the engineer. My sincere condolences to Dot and the rest of his family.

I so sorry to hear of Uncle Johns passing. I have fond memories when my brother Scott and I went and stayed with him and Aunt Dot in Fort Walton Beach.

On behalf of the Wingfield Family Society I would like to pass along our condolences and prayers to your extended family. John was a Founding Member of the Wingfield Family Society and leader of our Society for many years, serving in many roles, including President and Lord of the Manor of Wingfield 2013-2015. I really enjoyed my time with John whenever I saw him at our Annual Meetings and was fortunately to visit with John back in September. Thank you John for all you have done for WFS, you will be missed. Your cousin, Stephen Chanko, current President & Lord of the Manor of Wingfield
