Warner Robins, Georgia - MSGT Lanette Johnson, USAF (Ret.), age 64, of Warner Robins, Georgia, peacefully earned her eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on April 19, 2025.
Born on April 9, 1961, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Lanette was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lanette was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Thelma Payne, her sister, Annette Washington, and her nephew Ryan Washington. She leaves behind a loving family, including her cherished daughter, Courtney Baylor (Damien) of Mississippi; three devoted brothers, Rodney Washington (Rochelle) of Oklahoma, Gary Washington (Cassandra) of Louisiana, and Greg Washington (Marshall) of Louisiana; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren and Katelyn Baylor of Mississippi; and a host of extended family and friends.
With an impressive career spanning a combined total of 37 years, Lanette proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, culminating in her retirement as a Master Sergeant. Following her military service, she continued to contribute to her community by working at Robins Air Force Base in civil service, where she also retired.
In this time of sorrow, the family invites all who knew and loved Lanette to celebrate her life and legacy. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her kindness and unwavering dedication. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The celebration service honoring her life will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Tolan Morgan officiating. Lanette will be laid to rest with military honors at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

I met Lanette while I was working at the VA and I knew immediately that we would become friends. Her personality and wit would just draw you in and pretty soon, she´d have the whole room laughing. I missed her when I retired but we always exchanged cards at Christmas. I´m going to miss her. She was truly special. Prayers to the family.
