Macon, GA- A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Greater Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2656 Napier Avenue, Macon, GA. Interment - Macon Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Walter L. Glover officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 at Hutchings Funeral Home, 536 New Street, Macon, GA.
Leon was the oldest of four children and the only son of Leon and Willie Kate Morris. Leon and his three sisters were later raised by their uncle and aunt, Clifford and Doris Morris, after losing both parents in a fire in 1960. A lifelong resident of Macon, Leon was a 1967 graduate of Ballard Hudson High School and later completed various apprenticeships in automotive and other industrial trades. He was retired from Brown & Williamson. He was a lover of music and collected more records, CDs, and cassettes than many DJs.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonja Morris Daugherty (William); aunt, Doris Morris; sisters, Gloria Tate, and Patricia Jackson; and a loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
