My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family! Only our Lord can fill the empty spot in your hearts that Lori filled while she was with you. I know that you will all be together again in heaven and knowing that and God's never ending grace will strengthen you daily. I will always remember her as the amazing women she was, full of a quiet strength, compassionate spirit and eternal optimism. May God richly blessing you all!

God Bless her spirit!!! Joyanna, I know you will grow up to be just as awesome as your mom....

Lori was just an effervescent Christian! I remember the Sunday she knelt by the pew at Ingleside and told us of the possible adoption of a baby from China. She asked us to pray for the money and just the right child that God would place in their family. She was way beyond bubbly at that point! I saw her soon afterward in Walmart and she relayed what God had been up to and that the money was coming in. She was a breath of fresh air...always praising the Lord for small things and BIG things. She was a pro at giving God glory! Now she is in heaven awaiting our glad reunion some day! Let us carry on and fight the good fight of faith as she did until God calls us home! She will be greatly missed!

Our Cancer Support Group at First Baptist Church in Perkasie, PA, loved Lori. We were faithful to pray for her. We also have prayed for Otto and Joyanna.
I also loved Lori and was delighted to have her stay in my home years ago when she came to our church to hear Otto play the piano and BBC to do a concert. It seemed to be that very day that they were assured of their future together. Of course we love Lori's family as well especially her parents and then the brothers Larry and Randy and sister Rhonda. It is great to know that we will all meet in heaven.
He's coming soon!

Dear Otto, Jonathan, Jared & Emily, Joshua and sweet little Joyanna....
We are heartbroken to hear that Lori has left this earth, but also joy-filled to know that she is with our Lord and that her pain and suffering is now over. She was a warm, friendly, courageous and caring woman. We first met Lori four years ago when we sat next to each other on the long flight to China to bring home our daughters...it was then our friendship was born. We talked the entire flight, sharing stories about our family and our excitement in seeing our new baby daughter. Since then, Lori and I have had so many wonderful phone conversations these past several years. She always shared with me her tremendous faith in the Lord. She encouraged and supported us when we struggled through some tough news. She always spoke so lovingly of her family. She was so very proud of you Otto...your strength, your gifts as a husband and father, and your musical ability and enormous talent. She would sing your praises for all of the help and support you gave her and for your unwavering love and strength through her illness. She was so proud of the musical work you were doing at your church, and the beautiful music you were creating. Lori would share with me all of the accomplishments of her sons, and was so proud of all three of you. And then there is Joyanna. She was so excited to have a daughter and so very excited to share with me all that Joyanna would say and do to put a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. All of you filled her with JOY and gave her so much happiness here on earth. I am sure she gave back to you the same. We feel blessed to have known Lori, for she was a FAITH-filled woman that gave so much to everyone she met. I have been blessed by her friendship.

We will all miss Lori. She was an important part of our Hunan family, and we only wish that God could have given all of us a few more years together with her. We rest in HIS peace, knowing that we will see her in heaven. Our prayers are with you all, and we ask our Lord to give you the peace and strength to get through this terrible loss.
With all our Love,

Dear Pastor Reitnauer,

You and Lori ministered to me as a teenager years ago at Riverdale Baptist Church. I remember Lori's bright smile, listening ear, words of encouragement, and most of all the way she reflected the love of Jesus with her life. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May you and your children literally feel Jesus holding you during this very painful time. One day you WILL see her again and from that day forward you will never say "good-bye" again! Until then I suggest that you imagine your pillow as Jesus' lap and let Him gently hold you every night. He promises to never leave you nor forsake you.

Brian and Merry Studer

April 15, 2011

Dear Otto and Family,
Merry and I just looked at the pictures of Lori and your family and once again realized how quickly our lives have gone by; and how much time has slipped away since you were here at Riverdale! We have fond memories of the time you Lori and the boys spent here as we worked together in the Youth ministry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Recently the Lord brought Psalm 116:15 to my mind; "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." May the Lord himself comfort you with His Word.

I can just see Lori walking on the shore of heaven, praising the Lord and watching the tide roll in.....we miss you sooo....Lori and we want you here, but let's look at it from where she is standing right now. She is saying:

"I am doing fine, and it doesn't hurt anymore. Things couldn't be better, and heaven is worth waiting for! I love you too, and till we meet again, I will always be praying for you and loving you, thanking you for being my life!
I wish you were here. It's such a beautiful place, wish you were here. Nothing but clear sunny days. It never rains, and no one complains. I haven't seen a tear. We're having a great time here, but I wish you were all here!
All my love forever, Lori"

You have an extra special guardian angel now, we are praying for all of you!

A bright candle on earth has gone out, but there is a new candle in Heaven. Lori was a very gentle but toughly courageous lady. Tell Joyanna that her mom is watching her from the brightest star and that she loves her very much.
Take care, my friend and let God be with you and the children at this time.
