Martha Chatoian

March 18, 1939 - October 26, 2024

Chatoian, California - Martha Ann Chatoian, retired school teacher, died peacefully with her husband at her side holding her hand, on Oct. 26.

Martha was born in Sacramento and attended elementary school and later C.K. McClatchy High School and then graduated from University of California, Berkeley.

After her schooling the then Martha Ann Langdon married Ralph Chatoian and the couple celebrated 63 happy years of marriage. They lived in Marin County those early years where Martha taught In the Novato School district, mostly kindergarten at Pleasant Valley School. She was loved by her students with her lovely smile.

She enrolled in an art class while the couple lived at Sun City Lincoln Hills and became an accomplished artist. When the couple traveled to Europe and other places she would take photos, and when returning home bring out the easel and turn those photos into beautiful works of art.

While living at Lincoln Hills she and her husband played thousand of hands of bridge in the Lincoln Hills Duplicate Bridge Club. They purchased a motor home and traveled through most parts of California.

They moved to Summerset Assisted Living, still in Lincoln, where Martha lived out the rest of her life.

Martha is survived by her husband and son, Rick and his wife, Kristin.

A celebration of life is scheduled for next summer, June 8 at noon, in Orchard Creek Lodge Ballroom in Lincoln at 965 Orchard Creek Lane.
