Jones County, Georgia - Martha Sue Hurst, 78, of Deer Creek Circle, died Friday, October 22, 2021, at her residence. Memorial services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, October 25, 2021, at Greenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Kim Washburn officiating.
Mrs. Hurst was born July 22, 1943, in Hidalgo, Illinois and had lived in Jones County for the past twenty-six years. She was the daughter of the late Cloyce Andrew Thomas and Edna Pearl Carr Thomas. Mrs. Hurst was a devoted member of Greenwood Baptist Church, where she participated in the Goldtimers. She was retired from Mercer University School of Medicine and was preceded in death by her husband: Clifford Hurst her brother-in-law: Leroy Miller.
Mrs. Hurst is survived by her son: Jimmy Hurst (Gladys); daughter: Nancy Rowland (Brian); grandchildren: Brandon Hurst, Savanna Hurst, David Flickinger and Jason Flickinger; great-granddaughters:Riley Flickinger, Abigail Flickinger and Kaitlyn Flickinger; sister: Joan Miller and by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
