February 8, 1940 - January 29, 2018
Macon, GA- Mary Lee Durden, 77, of Macon, passed away January 29, 2018. Services will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210 with Reverend Steve Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 4406, Macon, Georgia 31208.
Mrs. Durden was retired from Bibb County Board of Education and loved shopping and she especially loved spending time with her hero, Billy, and her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Durden is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, William "Billy" M. Durden of Macon; daughters, Michelle Eller of Norcross, Georgia, Penni Jones (Dennis) of Covington, Georgia and Patti Durden (Keith Moody) of Kathleen, Georgia; 7 grandchildren and 2 grandchildren-in-law; sisters, Myrtle Jonson of Metter, Georgia and Alice Batey (Chuck) of Stuart, Florida; and brother, Leroy Sanders (Carolyn) of Metter.

Billly, Michelle, Penny, and Patty. We are so sorry to hear of Mary Lee's death. She was such a beautiful lady inside and out. And we are sorry we are unable to make it to the funeral. Robert's trying to recover from the flu and I'm trying to get over a virus. We love everyone of you.

Mary Lee was one sweet and beautiful lady her smile could brighten a room she will be missed but I know she is sitting at the feet of JESUS as he welcomed her home love and prayers to the family .

To the Durden family. I'm so sorry for the loss of Mary Lee. She was a very special and sweet women. When I got out of the hospital, Mary Lee made sure I had a home cooked meal of pork chops and a cake. Those were the best porks I think I've ever eaten. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Mary Lee will be missed.

Billy, Michelle, Penny and Patti, I am so sorry to hear of Mary Lee's passing. She was a wonderful woman, as you well know. We are so sorry about Mrs. Durden. She was such a beautiful, kind soul. We loved seeing her at the office and the Breast Cancer Survivor Luncheon in October. We will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
