December 2, 1930 - July 26, 2021
Reynolds, Georgia - Funeral Services for Mary Pierce Montgomery Hancock, 90, of Reynolds will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00AM at Crowell United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mary passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 while residing at Phoenix Senior Living in Warner Robins. She was a member of Crowell United Methodist Church. Mary was always a hard worker whether that was preparing meals and keeping financial records for the farm, posting accounting records at Flint EMC, serving as a member of various church committees at Crowell United Methodist Church, contributing her cooking and other talents to various outreach organizations in Crowell, Reynolds and Butler. Friends and family were always at the center of Mary's thoughts and actions. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and faith. One of her favorite responses during almost every conversation was a hearty "Thank you Jesus."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Hugh Pierce and Sally Mae Pierce; three siblings; Walter Hugh Pierce, Betty Pierce Smith and Thomas Pierce; her husbands; John S. Montgomery and George Hancock; one daughter, Judy Montgomery Bargainnier; and one grandson, Timothy Taunton.
Survivors include her children; Pam Montgomery Taunton, Stan Montgomery, and Jeff Montgomery; step-children; Steve Hancock, Carol Wheeler and Dura Stokes; one brother, Paul Pierce; grandchildren; Tracy Taunton, Jamey Taunton, Kristen Taunton Peaster, Kelli Bargainnier, Jeremy Bargainnier, Micah Montgomery and Graham Montgomery; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Phoenix Senior Living and Regency Southerncare Hospice of Warner Robins. The family asks that any donations made on Mary's behalf be sent to Crowell United Methodist Church, in care of Steve Montgomery, 2298 Roberta Highway, Reynolds, GA 31076, Grace Hospice Foundation in care of Regency Southerncare Hospice, 5233 Riverside Dr., Macon, GA 31210 or the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, PO Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home.
