Michael "Mike" D. Davis
July 18, 1953 - January 26, 2019
Warner Robins, GA- On the morning of Saturday, January 26, 2019, Mike Davis, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mike was born in Macon, Georgia on July 18, 1953. In 1973, he joined the Warner Robins Fire Department where he faithfully and bravely served his community as a firefighter. Mike retired as the Assistant Fire Chief in 2008 and went on to serve on the Warner Robins City Council beginning in 2011. He actively served on Post 6 until 2019. Mike was also a key member of Northside High School Football as radio broadcaster for 25 seasons and co-founded Sports Mic. Mike was a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan and faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. He whole-heartedly loved his family, co-workers, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Christine Walker Davis; and brother, James Terry Davis.
Mike's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 34 years, Diane Davis of Warner Robins; son, Blake Davis (Amy) of Canton, Georgia; granddaughter, Stella; sister, Barbara Smith of Warner Robins; brothers, Gary Davis (Debbie) of Knoxville, Georgia and Lanny Davis (Brenda) of Macon; and numerous adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church. A funeral service celebrating' Mike's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Clark and Rev. Jerry Walls officiating. Following the service, Mike will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Mike to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to Southside Baptist Church c/o Missions, 1040 S. Houston Lake Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

Recently heard of Mike's passing and wanted to send a prayer for his family. Mike was a childhood friend and the memories of he and my brother Neal bring a smile to my face. He was such a good person and we know Heaven is rejoicing!

My condolences to the DAVIS family. i listened to Mike broadcast the Eagles games since i moved from WARNER ROBINS in 1994.. He will surely be missed. RIP MIKE AND GOD BLESS.

My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and Blake as we go through this sad time. I have some good memories of Mike, and funny stories, that will continue with me though he is gone. Mike made significant contributions to this community that will live on well into the future. RIP my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Davis family and all of Mike's friends and colleagues. I got to know Mike over the last few years through advertising on SportsMic and he did a lot to help me promote my business. In addition, I spoke to him a couple of times as a City Councilman and he was always responsive and eager to resolve things within the city if there were issues. He will be greatly missed. Even before I got to know him the last few years, I had listened to him for years as the voice of Northside football. Rest in peace Mike.
