Wow...one year without him here. Was at the lake but just could not enjoy the weekend. Cause that was the last place we saw Michael. Terri Jo sorry that I didn't get your voice message until Sunday Night you know that I would have come running to help you. We stopped by to talk to him today and the boys had to leave something for Coach Michael. We love ya'll and still miss him like it was yesterday!

My heart hurts from missing my friend. I can't begin to imagine how much Michael's family hurts each day since he was taken away. He was such a loyal employee and friend and I miss the times that we worked together. My current maintenance men are boring me to tears compared to the fun Michael brought to our lives on and off the job.

We all miss u Yopp

January 19, 2007

I also still think of Michael. Working with him on a daily basis and then not seeing him has taken a toll on me and to top it off, my new Maintenance Supervisor asks me the same exact question that Michael used to ask me every morning, "Are we having fun yet?" He will definitely be remembered forever. God Bless you all.

I know that it has been a while but just wanted to let you know that we are still thinking of Michael also. I have thought about each of you on all of the holidays, I have stopped by to talk to him a few times and even called the cell number to hear the voice. Just wanted to let you know that we are still hurting too.

A CHILD IS LOANED

I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine, he said, for you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead.

It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three, but will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, you'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, but there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.

I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true, and from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain. Nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again?

I fancied when I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done. For all the joy thy child should bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may; And for the happiness we've known, will ever grateful stay. But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."~

I grew up in the neighborhood with Michael and although I didnt know him really well, I did know what kind of person he was. My grandmother was mugged of her purse several years back and Michael found her purse which only contained personal photos and a few business cards. He went through the trouble of calling the people on the business cards to find out who owned the purse then delivered it to my grandma. It meant so much to her to get her personal items back. Our family will never forget the kindness Michael showed to a stranger. My prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

My Love Always Your Cousin

June 1, 2006

(TO MY COUSIN MICHAEL, I MISS YOU AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.)

In Tears we watched and suffered, so little I could do,

but try to comfort you and pray,

God would help you through.

His Golden Gates stood open,

God saw you needed rest,

his garden must be beautiful,

'cause he only takes the best.

It broke my heart to lose you,

but you didn't go alone,

parts of us went with you,

the day God took you home.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
