Morris Reese Obituary
March 31, 1962 - August 19, 2024
Macon, Georgia - Dr. Morris Everett Reese was born March 31, 1962 in McDuffie County, GA to Horace Reese and Etta Mary Chatman Reese. Tragically, he passed away on August 19, 2024 while bike riding.
Morris attended Warren County Schools and joined Fellowship Baptist Church at a young age. He later joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, GA, where he has served on the Deacon Board and as a Sunday School Superintendent. He attended Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Mercer University School of Medicine. He practiced medicine over 30 years and was a proprietor of Reese Family Healthcare in Gordon, GA since 2002.
Dr. Reese had many passions over the years which included tennis, piano playing, reading, and bike riding. He leaves behind his wife, Cynthia; his children, Cecily and Everett; 1 aunt, 5 siblings, and a host of other relatives, friends, and patients.
Funeral arrangements include an Omega service at Hutchings Funeral Home, Inc., conducted by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., at 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, followed by visitation. Homegoing services are 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2024 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 996 Oglethorpe Street, Macon GA, with interment at Fellowship Baptist Church, Warren County, GA.

Dr Reese was my Mother´s Doctor for many years before she passed in 2013. He was our family Physician and friend. He will be greatly missed for all the care he provided to the entire Durham Family. Oh my, upon hearing of Our friend and Doctor passing really hurts. Mrs Cynthia Reese I met you in the lowest of my life and you were an Angel. You told your hubby about me and how my hubby was not knowing he was our Doctor and he called us his favorite couple. I have gone through soooo much in my life and Dr. Reese was there. I went to over35 doctors who said I would never walk again. Lord have mercy. Dr.Reese informed my husband Keimethy not to build permanent ramps & etc. That with my mindset I will walk again. Today no ramps, IWALK, I WALK I WALK

Condolences to the Family, may God give you strength during this difficult time. Dr. Reese were our physician ,my husband and I . Always had time for whatever issues we had, but most of all a God sent man for this TIME, the citizens of Wilkinson and surrounding counties concerned with treating all the citizens, no matter what race or gender he treated the complete person. Dr. Reese displayed the character of JOB, very patient and knowledgeable. He will truly be missed, Our last appt with Dr. Reese in June, he was conversating about his school Morehouse and their football program. Telling my husband to tell my son who was coaching a Tuskegee to take it easy on them this year. He enjoyed life , family, and community. My heartfelt condolences to all of the family. Morris was mine, my late husbands and my mothers doctor. He delivered several of my grandchildren. He was the ONLY doctor I have ever had who took the time to listen to any and all concerns and his love for the Lord was impressive. A caring doctor who never hesitated to stop and pray with/for his patients. The world has lost a great, UNREPLACEABLE Christian doctor but our good Lord has gained a Saint! RIP Doctor Reese!

Dr. Reese was my doctor for over thirty years when first started in Jeffersonville, a very special and caring person, patient, always willing to listen to whatever you had issues going on in your life and making sure that were taking your medication and if you wasn´t you were going to a lecture about the importance of taking it. My heart was so very heavy when I heard about the passing of Dr. Reese. He was my uncle and his wife doctor for many years. All I ever heard from my uncle was how much he valued Dr. Reese as his physician. It took me a couple months to get in to see him but I waited. And I was so happy to say the least , it was well worth the wait. He made you feel as if you were his one and only concern. He made you feel as if you were a part of the Reese family. He talked to you as if you were sitting around the dinner table eating but you also knew that what he was telling you needed to take heed and listen. I had finally found a doctor who listened and showed that he cared. Dr. Reese you are an amazing Dr and human being and you will be missed. So glad I had a chance to talk with you about two weeks ago and I will never forget what you told me. Your legacy will forever live on. Thank You Sir!!!!!
