Patrick Topping Obituary

Patrick Joseph Topping -NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL -Patrick Joseph Topping, 83, New Smyrna Beach, FL, died Wednesday, March 12 at Emory L. Bennett VA Nursing Home, Daytona Beach, FL. -Mr. Topping was born in Manchester, Connecticut and moved to Florida in 1981 from Macon. He retired as an Air Force Master Sergeant after 21 years of service, having served during World War II and the Korean War. After his retirement in 1962, he worked for various military contractors in Georgia, Florida, Israel and Iran. His hobbies included bicycling, sailing and traveling. He loved music and was a self-taught violin and harmonica player. -Survivors include two sons: Patrick Joseph Topping, Jr. of Macon and Michael Topping of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Ellen Topping of New Smyrna Beach, FL; one sister: Mary Maltempo, Manchester, CT; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in January 2002. -Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. -Cremation will be by the Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. The family will have a private memorial service. -Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, FL, is in charge.
