Raymond Moody Obituary

Raymond Lindsey Moody, Jr. -MACON - Raymond Lindsey Moody, Jr., 63, of 1792 Greentree Parkway, died Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be in Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County. The Chaplain of the Macon Police Department will officiate. -The family will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. -Mr. Moody was born in Macon County and had lived in Middle Georgia for most of his life. He was a retired Captain of the Macon Police Department, formerly employed with Allstate Bonding Company and was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Police Sparky O'Cain Lodge #3 and president of IPAG. Mr. Moody was the son of the late Ray L. and Paulette Durden Moody and was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Faye Moody. -Mr. Moody is survived by his wife, Renate Downs Moody of Macon; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond (Connie) Lindsey Moody, III of Jonesboro and John (Brande) Wayne Moody of Dry Branch; three step-sons and one step-daughter; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Paulette (Ray) Brown, Maxine (Jay) Batcha, Charlene (Tim) Cooper; brother and sister-in-law, Hoyt (Jan) Webb; step-brother and step-daughter-in-law, Harry (Hitomi) Webb; ten nieces and nephews. -In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Sparky O'Cain Lodge #3, 2465 Heath Road, Macon 31206. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, has charge of arrangements.
