Richard Lee Dycus
MACON, GA- Richard Lee Dycus, 57, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his residence in Macon, GA.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Tony Dickerson officiating. Richard was born on July 28, 1955 in Ft. Riley, Kansas to Homer Lee Dycus and Mary Elizabeth Chambers.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and continued his service to others when he became a probation officer for the state of Georgia. He received a Bachelor Degree from Columbus College, was a member of the NRA and a Methodist by faith.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, aunt Dorothy Williamson, uncle James Edward Chambers and grandfather, Tommy Lee Chambers.
He is survived by his mother, Mary; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Dycus of Granada Hills, CA; one uncle, Dean Chambers (Lona) of Jacksonville, FL and his godson, Daylen Clowers.
Richard was a loving son, brother and friend and will be forever missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Vance-Brooks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rest in peace, Richard. You were wonderful to work with. It was hard to watch you wage your battle with cancer, but your dedication to work and service never faltered, no matter how much pain you suffered. My deepest sympathies to your family and colleagues at State Probation on your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Ricky. He and my brother Ernie Goodwin were very good friends and Ricky was such a nice person. They are together now in Heaven, catching up on what's been going on as they always did. Rest in Peace Ricky!
