Samuel Nixon Obituary
Byron, GA- Samuel Nixon III, 78, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. A Masonic service will begin at 7:00PM. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 25, 2016, in the Chapel at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Hwy in Milledgeville.
Born in Cheswick, Pennsylvania, to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Nixon Sr., Mr. Nixon served in the Air Force and had worked at Glenshaw Glass, Anchor Glass, and Chi-Chester's Home Health. For fifty-one years, he had been a member of the Athelstane Masonic Lodge in Pearl River, New York.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Edna Nixon; a son, Robert William Nixon of Byron; brother in law, Joe Jankovic and wife, Diane of Poestenkill, New York; good friends, Sam and Betty Hunt of Lumberton, North Carolina, and Marilyn and David Hatten of Fort Valley; and his beloved pet, "Molly".

Our buddy has passed on and he will be missed. Your Sam and my Sam were like brothers and we loved him so very much. Our sons Sam Jr. and Dicky felt the same way. You know the boys will help out in any way but you need to tell them or let them know. We love you and want you to take care of yourself. Love you.
