Stephen Bounds Obituary

Stephen E. "Steve" Bounds
May 2, 1958 - October 12, 2016
Knoxville, GA- Steve Bounds, 58, went to be with the Lord in heaven on the evening of Wednesday, October 12, 2016, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Born on May 2, 1958 in Knoxville, Tennessee, Steve joined the United States Air Force soon after graduating high school and was stationed at Robins Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged from the military on November 28, 1979 and two years to the day later, married the beautiful Kim LaJuan Nicklow. Mr. and Mrs. Bounds raised their family in the Middle Georgia area while Steve worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base for over 36 years. While at Robins, he was an environmental health technician for the 78th Medical Group and also worked for Zero Waste Management for many years.
Mr. Bounds was a longtime member of Byron Baptist Church. He enjoyed an array of hobbies, as well, including: hunting, collecting knives and coins, and woodworking. Steve also loved antiques and traveling. With all of the interests he enjoyed, he always put family first and will deeply missed by each and every one of them.
He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife of nearly 35 years, Kim Bounds; children, Stephen A. Bounds (Shadeel) and Amber Martin-Jankewicz; grandchildren, Lauren Martin, Sabrina Bounds, Callie Jankewicz, and Joshua and Sophia Bounds; parents, Frankie Joe and Barbara Williams Bounds; siblings, Tari Kay Ayers (Steve), Traciey Davis (Robert), Keli Stokes (Carl), and Keri Nicklow; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19th at Byron Baptist Church. At the family's request, the burial will be private.
