Byron, Georgia - Steven Ray Dorsey, 45, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 30, 2022, after an extended illness. Family will greet friends, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 2:00PM at Byron Baptist Church, 100 West White Road in Byron with Burial following in Byron City Cemetery. Rev. Terry Hendrix will be officiating.
Steven was born in Warner Robins to the late William Dorsey Jr., and Virginia Allred Dorsey. He was an auto technician at Tires Plus. Steven loved cars, grilling, and fishing and shooting guns with his son, Raylen. He loved spending time with his family and friends and attended Harmony Community Church. Steven was also a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Survivors include his son, Raylen Dorsey; brothers and sister; Bobby Dorsey (Elaine), Cindy McGreggor (Vince), and Alan Dorsey (Carolynn); uncles; Earl Dorsey (Gail) and Jimmy Allred; aunt, Yvonne Wilder, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family request donations be made to Harmony Community Church, 3085 Housers Mill Road in Byron. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathies to Allen and Raylen and the rest of the family for your loss. I´ve known Steven since he was a young teenager and he became my son, David Sams, best friend and then their sons became best friends. There was never a time that when I saw Steven that he didn´t give me a big hug. One of the sweetest person you were privileged to know. My heart is deeply saddened for the family as well for all the ones that knew and loved Steven. He will truly be missed. I pray that God will give you comfort and peace as you grieve your loss.

We have all been blessed to have known sweet Steven. I recently had an opportunity to visit with Steven while we were in a doctor´s waiting room. It had been several years since I had seen him and it was so good to see him again. We had a great visit, including many memories made with him and my children when they were all younger and life was good. The Byron community and all who knew him will certainly miss this fine young man Praying for his family and his many friends now and in the days to come. To have known Steven was to love him.
